Music is a "garlic-lover's" garlic! Cooks prize it for it's mild flavor and ease of peeling. The flavor is well developed without bitterness, and it does not disappear when cooked. Many recipes can be flavored with one clove, so it is time-saving. Keeps well until April or May when stored properly.
It grows strongly, reaching 4 feet tall in most years. We have harvested some bulbs weighing 6 oz each, while most average 4 -5oz. A reliable grower in cold climates, it has responded to our organic management by increasing in size over the years. This year's harvest gave us a large percentage of uniform bulbs, most falling in to the 3 to 4oz. range.
"Seed stock" is selected for size and perfection. Larger cloves yield larger bulbs. Note special pricing for quantities of seed stock!
"Culinary stock" is smaller and less perfect, but perfectly usable. They are also viable if you care to try growing them out.
Small bundles contain approximately 24oz of garlic, while large bundles are about 2.25 pounds. They are tied with sea grass or hemp string and are decorative as well as functional. Hanging garlic is a great way to store it!
Our garlic is grown organically. If a customer wants detailed information, they are welcome to contact the farm directly and ask questions about our farming practices. Local folks may arrange a visit by emailing or calling.
