The N.C. Research Campus is in its second year of bringing fresh local produce to Cabarrus County and the surrounding area. New to the market this year are rules that ensure a LOCAL brand on all the strawberries, broccoli, lettuce, onions and other produce sold there. All produce sold at the market is grown within 100 miles of Kannapolis and vendors must display a card telling customers the farm where each type of produce is grown. Visitors will find weekly educational events presented by N.C. Cooperative Extension personnel from Cabarrus and Rowan Counties with assistance from N.C. State University. Live music, activities for children and eclectic local shopping options line West Avenue during the market, providing fun for the whole family.
