With their long and interesting history, Navajo Churro Sheep are considered Americas first sheep. Prized for both their wool and their distinct sweat taste these animals occupy a truly special place in the landscape of American Livestock.
We started our flock with three young ewes after a school filed trip to a frontier museum. They had more sheep than space, and we were intrigued by what we knew about them. It did not take long before they won us over with their hearty nature and curious and gentle disposition. We now have a flock of 20 breading ewes and of course, our ram Father Abraham. From birth to final processing these animals are treated with kindness and always handled humanely.
Since we were far from experts on quality lamb meat we decided to put our product to the test. We took a sample of our cuts and gave them to a friend of ours who grew up in a "sheep family". Until recently they have been breeding, raising and showing sheep for generations. The verdict, "that is some of the best lamb I have ever had". Just words? A week later they ordered the next three available lambs.

Each animal yields approximately 30 lbs (+ or - 5 lbs) in "freezer" weight. These animals will be custom processed according to your preferences.
