8 oz of Clean, carded silver/badger Navajo-Churro roving from our onsite flock of endangered sheep. Wool roving is ready for spinning, felting or locker hooking. Fleece was professionally sheared and processed into beautiful, naturally colored roving.
This wool has good handle and long staple length (10-12"), which makes it perfect even for beginning spinners. Churro also felts very well.
This listing is for naturally colored, professionally processed roving. This is from a fleece from the mature ram shown in the listing's picture.
Navajo-Churro sheep are endangered per the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC). We raise these hardy, beautiful sheep on our urban farm for fiber and as part of a preservation program. Navajo-Churro wool is the fiber traditionally used in Navajo rug weaving. Although it is a "rug" grade wool, it is a soft but sturdy wool that can be used for many types of fiber projects.
