North Star Homestead Farms is uniquely located on a historic homestead tucked in the Chequamegon National Forest. Restored and re-visioned by a family of three women, N* provides local food to Hayward, Cable, and the surrounding community via CSA, farmer's market, and direct sales of poultry, lamb, pork, eggs, honey, produce, and bakery. We also have an aquaponics unit, coordinate a natural foods buying club, and produce custom gardening services for individuals and restaurants. Our mission is to provide our local community with foods raised in a responsible, chemical-free, humane, and sustainable manner while living and working in harmony with the Northwoods enviornment. We constantly strive to decrease our carbon footprint and increase our green strategies for connecting consumers with healthy and natural products.<

Farmstead Creamery & Cafe is a place for commnunity gathering, connecting with local foods and food producers, and facilitating education and the arts. This barn-like facility is also home to our bakery and dairy plant (where we make gelato from our own sheeps milk) and where you can also get farm-fresh meals! Come check it out!
