Greetings from beautiful Nikiski Alaska. My family and I are just getting started in the mushroom business and learning as we go! We are currently growing and having great success with Oyster Mushrooms, the variety that are pictured, and are also expiermenting with Shitake, Mitake and Morrels.
We grow the mushrooms on a combination of cardboard and straw. The straw is a bi-product of locally grown grains and the cardboard is rescued from local business. We are proud of the fact that we are not only helping to support local businesses but helping to save the environment by keeping the cardboard out of the landfills or from being burned!!
If you are ever in our neck of the woods we would love to show you around our operation. Please feel free to call let us know that you are intrested in a tour.
