O.K. Farms began when my great grandfather Otho Kellam Custis dropped out of the eighth grade and took over the family store in Craddockville, Virginia. The store did well enough for him to eventually buy and tend his own potoato and cattle farms. He died of lung cancer and bequeathed a farm on Nandua Creek to his thirteen year old grandson, Roy. Roy raised me on O.K. Farms and taught me to love taking care of the land, and when he gave a small farm to my wife Jessica and me, we started a sustainable organic vegetable farm.
