Herbalists recommend Basil tea for stomach cramps, vomiting and constipation.
Basil has been described as having a slight sedative action, which would explain why it is sometimes recommended for nervous headaches and anxiety. Instead of an after dinner mint, try an after dinner cup of basil tea to aid digestion and expel gas.
Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of tea for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the pot, cover and let steep for 2-4 minutes. Pour into your cup; add milk and sugar to taste.
