Aged raw-milk Leyden cheese handcrafted on our farm from our own grass-fed (pastured) Holstein/Jersy cows. Aged 60 days to 1 year (so far). Available from 1# piece to 12-13# round(s).
Grassfields Cheese is Certified Organic! The cows are outside on green pasture 365 days a year (2/3s of that time it's fresh pasture). They receive minimal organic grain with free-choice organic minerals. We buy standing (in the field) organic feed (grass and corn) and harvest most of their winter feed ourselves from people we know. Some organic grain and wintering hay is shipped in from within Michigan.
The cheese is hand crafted from fresh raw milk (milked same morning) with all natural ingredients and aged 60 days (before we can sell it, per MI law). We usually don't sell it before 90 days.
ATTENTION: Since we cannot be sure the cheese will get to customers in the warm/hot summer, WE HAVE DISCONTINUED shipping outside of Michigan (or UPS ground 1 day away) as of April 15th. We will start shipping in mid-Fall again. Thank you for your orders and your patience. All orders from more than one day away shipping time will be canceled with an explanation.
