This beautiful yarn is comprised of 70% organic mohair blended with 30% American-grown Merino. The mohair is from my farm in South Carolina, where I pasture raise angora goats using holistic practices (like Sweet Pea, shown in the last photo). The merino is from another small farm in Colorado -- it is 100%American-raised! The fiber was spun at a LEED-certified mill in North Carolina that utilizes eco-friendly solutions like solar power and sustainable materials.
This yarn is a soft, balanced 2-ply yarn in an easy to work lace weight. This yarn has a wonderful weight and drapes beautifully! The mohair gives it an unbelievable softness and sheen, while the merino gives it memory and strength. This yarn is ready-to-dye white -- it is unbleached, natural white. Mohair-merino yarn makes beautiful, airy shawls, wraps, scarves, hats, and gloves. Whatever you make, you won't be disappointed!
