This beautiful yarn is comprised of 100% organic heritage breed Romeldale / CVM. The wool is from my farm in South Carolina, where I pasture these beautiful sheep using holistic practices. This batch of yarn comes from the wool of two of my sheep, Daytwah and Beck -- it is from their second and first shearings, respectively, and is amazingly soft! The fiber was spun at a LEED-certified mill in North Carolina that utilizes eco-friendly solutions like solar power and sustainable materials.
This yarn is a soft, balanced 2-ply yarn in an easy to work fingering weight. This yarn has a wonderful weight and drapes beautifully! Romeldale is known for its next-to-skin softness and is suitable for garments worn next to the skin, like sweaters, scarves, hats, etc. This yarn is a ready-to-dye beige color -- it is unbleached, in its natural color. Whatever you make, you won't be disappointed!
