The Osage Beach Farmer's Market (OBFM) was formed in the spring of 2012. Putting the concept "think global, act local" to work, OBFM opens the door into a new kind of farmers market in the lake area. Going beyond the typical model of simply buying produce in person from small-scale vendors, OBFM adheres to a set of principles centered around the importance of supporting and building a community among local "sustainable" food producers, and fostering relationships between them and their customers. We hold our vendors to a high standard, because we believe in the ideals of sustainable agriculture and healthy, whole food. This makes it more difficult to fill spots at the market, but we hope to be part of what changes that fact. Every vendor at the Osage Beach Farmer's Market has agreed to the terms of our "Pure Food Pledge" (see website for full text).
