Find a diverse selection of heirloom, open-pollinated and out-of -the-ordinary vegetable, herb and flower seedlings at peacetree.... Our focus is on sustainability and diversity, offering a wide selection of seedlings for home gardeners. All plants are greenhouse grown on a human scale using soil, seeds, and soil amendments that are appropriate for good, clean agriculture, and conform to organic standards. I am committed to supporting a sustainable agricultural system - one where our input augments and benefits the continuance of natural cycles and where we are locally connected to the sources of our food. Again this year peacetree has over 300 varieties of plants....many heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cole crops, onions, leeks, salad and braising greens, cardoons, (with a slight bias toward Italian flavors!), culinary (and a few medicinal) herbs and native and cultivated flowers. In order to grow so many different types, I encourage people to mix up 6-packs with several different varieties, for diversity in your garden and excitement for your tastebuds!
Specializing in heirloom tomatoes - 50 varieties of early, slicing, paste, cherry and grape. Many are heirlooms, most are open-pollinated. Tomatoes available beginning mid May, with a few early varieties the week before. Greenhouse opens last week in April! Shop at the greenhouse on Tues. & Thurs 10-6 (please call ahead other weekdays) or find us at Troy Waterfront Farmer's Market on Saturdays in May and June, or Schenectady Greenmarket on Sundays in May and June.
