The exact origin of this pepper is unknown, but it is an ethnic variety. One translation of "gamba" (as used in cooking) means sweet red pepper . Whatever its origin, this is indeed the best cooking pepper we've found. Use it for stir-fry, baking, and stuffing. As it cooks it becomes even sweeter, and our favorite way to prepare it is to stir-fry 'Gamba' with onions. The fruits are deep-red, flattened bells, approximately 3" in diameter and 2" deep. 'Gamba' is easy to grow, productive, and is more resistant to fruit diseases than other peppers we've grown.
Garden Medicinals offers over 220 varieties of medicinal and culinary herb seeds, roots, potato onions, specialty garlic varieties, and select heirloom vegetable and ethnic flower seed. All seeds are non-gmo, open-pollinated and untreated. Most seeds are naturally grown and a few are certified organic. Our vegetable seeds do especially well in hot, humid climates where vegetable production can be difficult. Our herb selection also includes dormant root stock of ginger, ginseng, goldenseal, black cohosh, false unicorn, and wild yam.
