70 days. An heirloom sweet pepper that excels as a drying and freezing pepper, it is also good for stir-fry, relishes, and salad use. Fruits are thin-walled, slightly curved, averaging 1" at the shoulder, and tapering to 6 to 8" in length. This is one of the few peppers suitable for drying in the hot, humid, eastern U.S, and it does well in both the north and south. The first mature fruits make the best quality dried peppers. The fruits ripen from green to crimson red, and the flavor is sweet and multidimensional with a slightly spicy and smoky quality. The plants are very productive and disease-resistant producing a large percentage of high quality fruits.
Garden Medicinals offers over 220 varieties of medicinal and culinary herb seeds, roots, and select heirloom vegetable and ethnic flower seed. All seeds are non-gmo, open-pollinated and untreated. Most seeds are naturally grown and a few are certified organic. Our vegetable seeds do especially well in hot, humid climates where vegetable production can be difficult. Our herb selection also includes dormant root stock of ginger, ginseng, goldenseal, black cohosh, false unicorn, and wild yam.
