Porter Community Farm

Thanks for your interest in the farm and its market and thanks to all the people who have supported it. The farm has been in the family for three generations and in almost continuous cotton production since the late 1920's. Having a very strong desire to implement a more sustainable farm practice and to provide a true, on farm market for the community, 2007 was the first full year of fruit and vegetable production here on the farm. All produce here on the farm is grown using the least outside input, most sustainable method utilizing many organic practices such as large scale composting, rotations and cover crops. Offered here is a large selection of fresh produce from spring to winter in an open-air market. (more...)
