Prairieland CSA

Started by members of Common Ground Food Coop in 1995, Prairieland Community Supported Agriculture matches consumers with local sustainable farmers. Since 2003, PCSA has worked with the Moore Family Farm in Watseka, IL, which has delivered consistently despite droughts and floods. The Moores raise produce and a variety of livestock in permaculture-type rotations on their nearly 100 year-old family farm--all without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. The Moores deliver produce to Champaign and Urbana during the 18-week growing season which starts in June. Watseka-area residents may pickup shares directly from the farm. Shares may be purchased online from our website using the url in the Contact Information on this page. Online and installment payment options are available. At least two shares and all unclaimed produce go to directly to area charities and soup kitchens, and have since PCSA's inception.
