Prairieland Peruvian Alpacas is located 50 miles northeast of St Louis, MO (founded in 2003). We're dedicated to raising a herd of Peruvian alpacas with great fiber and super personalities. Breeding and fiber products are our main business. Alpaca natural fiber has 22 different colors. Our 24 alpacas have fiber colors ranging from white, fawn, brown, greys and black. Alpaca fiber is considered to be a luxury fiber as it is extremely soft and warm. The fiber is 3 times warmer and approximately 7 times stronger than wool but is not itchy as the fiber is straight where wool fiber has barbs if you were to look at it under a microscope. Once you've worked with our gorgeous fiber, you'll become an alpaca fan.

We sell alpacas, rovings for spinning and/or crafts, yarn and hand knitted products.
