Preserving Now

Preserving Now offers canning classes in Atlanta area & Nashville. Using the most popular water-bath canning method, the four-hour workshop is hands-on, preparing three kinds of products that will vary with the seasons: a tomato product, a pickle, and a food product. Complete information is provided as well as a notebook covering all the lesson and the recipes. Participants leave with jars of the newly canned products (3 in all). You'll be able to preserve the bounty of the season and apply this newly learned skill to all kinds of year-around food products. Occasional specialty canning classes offered throughout the year.

Classes are currently being offered at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, the Grow Local Kitchen in Nashville, and at other locations. Lyn Deardorff is a 40-year canner and teaches safe and healthy canning techniques.
