Pualani O Moloka'i, Mana'e Grown Farm, nestled on the lush east end of Moloka'i grows organic tropical fruit, nuts, herbs, spices and veggies. From 7 varieties of bananas; sour sap, strawberries, mango, avocados, cacao, lychee to cinnamon and vanilla. Some of the trees are still young and need lots of TLC, some are producing seasonally and harvest time finds me whelding my fruit picker and hauling product to market. I am considering taking interns, it would have to be someone (s) who could tolerate tent camping and tropical flying bugs, short walks to the beach and the soothing sound of the river. Lots of hard work available for the right seekers. I have been working for the past seven years to grow out vanilla and am developing a demonstration farm for others in my community interested in a viable economic farm product that can grow on a small space.
