Having raised quail in my backyard as a child, I have been delighted to add them to our farm's growing flock of feathered friends.
The eggs are a gourmet treat -- many gourmet cooking uses, and your child will love the tiny fried eggs for breakfast!
The adorable little eggshells are also great for crafts.
We now have several different quail species, but most of the eggs are the speckled ones from the Coturnix or Japanese Quail.
Quail have to be confined, but we raise them in ample, naturalized cages where they can fly and forage, and mate naturally. As with all our birds, we raise them strictly for eggs, not meat. They get some commercial feed but no hormones, antibiotics, etc., and we supply as much natural food such as grains, seeds and insects, as we can.
WE ALSO OFFER QUAIL HATCHING EGGS -- SEE OUR SEPARATE LISTING FURTHER DOWN ON THE EGG PAGES!
Our yarns, nuts, and particularly our garden seeds, make perfect holiday gifts in synergy with our shared goals of environmental protection, sustainability, and food security.
