We keep bees and pastured poultry, practice vermicomposting, and have mixed vegetable production and small fruit orchards. We use some alternative energy (wind power for irrigation at present). We are compost tea brewers, hedgerow builders, purple martin hosts, and pollinator conservationists!
Our apiary is Certified Naturally Grown, and we use natural, sustainable methods all across the farm. We are becoming students of the philosophy and holistic methods utilized by biodynamic farms.
In addition, we are members of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and The Livestock Conservancy.
We welcome visitors and groups by appointment.
From mid-April through October, come and see us at the Moore County Farmers Market in downtown Southern Pines from 8 am until 12 noon on Saturdays. The market is at the intersection of New York Avenue and Broad Street. Visit the Moore County Farmers Market at http://www.localharvest.org/moore-county-farmers-market-M25234
