The Red Dragon Farm is home base for John Noles, a Kentucky certified microprocessor producing the Dragon's Hearth line of unique jams, jellies and other delicious home-canned goods.
We specialize in the "Ethnic Style" lambs (non-castrated or docked 45 - 90 pound) which are preferred by the Halaal and Haran markets. Lambs can be delivered to our local USDA certified processor, Bluegrass Lamb & Goat.
Our handmade Sheep Milk soaps are the ultimate luxury.
Our livestock includes crossbred East Friesian and Lacaune Dairy Sheep and old-fashioned farm-style collies.
We are involved with research in sustainable farming and energy-efficiency. Some of our planned study projects are:
1) studying the use of waste wool as mulch for orchard plantings
2) determining the viability of grazing sheep as weed control in chestnut and hazelnut orchard establishment
3) partnering with local farmers in the conversion of a single-wide mobile home to an energy-efficient sheep dairy.
4) participating with other breeders in development of hair type dairy sheep
