Red Dust Ranch is a family operated 70+ acre farm that grows produce for its CSA, pasture raised poultry, and hay for both horses and cattle. We are currently expanding our Boer goat and cattle herds to meet the demand for pasture raised meat. We began our operation three years ago boarding horses and have expanded each year since.
As we began to look at the competing farms in our region we began to notice that their prices were geared towards the elite. Yes, we could charge those prices too, but our philosophy is that everyone deserves to eat the most nutritious food available. It should not be reserved just for the people in society that make the most money. We want everyone to benefit and to live a healthier life. Please do not feel that we are selling inferior products, we just want to be able to do our part to benefit everyone.
We look for the most environmentally sound principles in which to manage our operations. We believe that if we take care of our environment and live in harmony with its processes and limitations than we will be provided with the means necessary to produce food for our family and yours with out the use of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, medicines, etc. We must look to the pre-industrial methods and techniques to over come fertilization and insect issues. We must look to Mother Nature for examples and rediscover the secrets she holds. Conventional agriculture finds solutions to treat the symptoms; we want to find the reason and treat the cause thus eliminating the symptoms.
We hope that you feel the same way we do and would like to do your part and join Red Dust Ranch CSA.
