Red Ridge Farms

We began growing produce when we discovered our children had food allergies. Several processed food ingredients were the culprit, and we started reading and researching a healthier diet for our family. Since we both had a farming and agriculture background, we chose to grow alot of our food, so we could closely control what we were eating. What a positive difference it has made, and we decided to share what we learned with our community. We sell a full range of vegetables and several fruits through our CSA program, the Farmer's Community Market at Brookside on Saturdays, the Lee's Summit Downtown Farmers Market on Wednesdays, KC Organics and Naturals Market on Saturdays, indoors at City Center Square at 1100 Main, KCMO on Thursdays during lunch, and BadSeed Market during the winter when we have extra produce. This year, we will be growing from a list of approx. 400 varieties. We are certified organic, growing good food without pesticides, using sustainable soil practices including minimum-till, crop rotation, cover crops, and on-site composting. This year we are adding vermicomposting and honey bees!

Always looking for new patrons who appreciate fresh, local, delicious food! Also seeking interns, groups interested in farm tours, volunteers, and other like minded folk.

We love growing heirloom vegetables. Check out our 100+ varieties of heirloom tomatoes. We extend our growing season with the use of high tunnels and row covers, so we have produce available 12 months of the year. Winter produce includes storage veggies, canned goods, fresh greens, and root crops. Our natural grown flower bouquets have been used for weddings, parties, and banquets. We also rent a farm house on the property for interns, farm managers, or small families. Please inquire
