Crocker Galleria market = Thursday deliciousness!
By: Alison    (Jun 25, 2008)

I work a block away from the Galleria so I always drop by this market every Thursday. It's not one of the biggest but there's still a great variety of stands and I always find something yummy - purple Peruvian potatoes, sweet basil, huge baskets of cherries - and always for a good price. Speaking of the basil, the aroma that wafts around from it is enough to make your stomach growl even if you've just eaten! All of the people working there are friendly and helpful, and really seem excited about getting people interested in markets, CSAs, etc.

The location is great - the Galleria is enclosed so it's still a go on rainy days, but with the glass ceiling and open ends at Sutter and Post, it keeps it airy and comfortable. It does get a bit crowded due to all the people coming to the Galleria just for lunch or shopping, but if you come before or after the lunch time, it's not bad. Easy to get to by Muni as well, so come check it out!
