I love it!

I look forward to every Wednesday during the spring and summer season. This is our second year of joining the Freehome Gardens CSA and we couldn't be more thrilled. The garden has such a great variety of vegetables, from your typical standard fare (okra, squash, potatoes, tomatoes, greens, carrots, etc.) to some heirloom varieties and unusual foods! This is what I love about the garden. It has challenged me and encouraged me to try new things then what I was typically used to. I have enjoyed trying varieties of beets and radishes - things I never would have done before as well as eating my greens (swiss chard, kale, mustard greens, collard greens.) It has also helped me get my husband to eat more vegetables then your standard veggies (green beans, squash, and tomatoes!) This year we challenged ourselves to get through all the vegetables before they went bad - my husband and I split the weekly amount with another couple so we don't waste any food and we are freezing more food then last year. In order to keep us using all of the vegetables, I have gotten into the kitchen and have started making my own pesto and spaghetti sauce and freezing it.
