Sankanac CSA

This is our second season with Sankanac CSA. It is our first CSA membership, so we can't compare it to others. We have been very happy with our membership. The price is right, market days are convenient and well organized, and information sharing is efficient. Among the extras are lectures and social events for the members, a flower garden fit for a Monet canvas for summer-long picking, lots of various livestock nearby in the fields for all to admire, and delightful interactions with the special needs adults who are part of the farm community. I just love talking with Wendell! Up the lane in the community's living area, there is a cafe and a gift shop with hand-spun yarns, loom woven apparel and rugs, and crafts. In autumn, we are offered shares of pork (about 30 lbs) from pigs that we get to watch growing fat all summer. It is the most delicious pork that I have ever tasted. There are other extras that I haven't tried yet, such as organic chickens and artisan breads.
The fresh, organic produce that we enjoy from May to October has been the envy of our friends, and we are delighted to be members of this CSA!
