no yuk and vacation credit
By: David McClurg (Feb 1, 2009)
I've been in two different CSAs in the Eugene, OR area. Both for several years. I really like the idea. Support local organically grown produce. Buy direct from the farm. Recently, I also learned I was "eating my view" according to "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan, so that makes it even better.
This will be my 3rd year with Groundwork Organics. GO gives you a box full of beautiful and tasty produce with very little yuk. The Yuk box is where you put the stuff you don't want when you pick up your box. That includes Kale and other inedible objects. But GO is very keen on providing what their customers want. Lots of strawberries, garlic whistles, bags of cut salad greens, and other yummies.
In addition, if you have planned vacations and you can't pickup your box on certain weeks, GO will give you vacation credit which is essentially a credit at their Saturday Market / Farmer's Market booth to buy produce whenever you want.
