Moonshadow CSA

A friend and I both signed up (seperately) for the CSA last summer (2008), and were both sorely dissappointed. I've never seen so much kolrabi in my life! The most unsettling part was our weekly pick-up, which took place at the small farmers market here in town - I would see the huge variety of beautiful veggies for sale at their stand, and get home to a box of wilted greens, zucchini, kolrabi and jalapeno peppers. Although the fruit and veggies they had at thie stand were beautiful, it appeared our boxes were stuffed with the leftovers from the previous weeks markets. We got only a select number of the variety listed in their brochure - for instance, we never got any of the fruit promised to us, nor the fresh eggs, along with many other items too numerable to list. I feel the farmer's #1 priority should be to the CSA members, and that was certainly not the case with this farm. Blaine was also very unresponsive to our concerns, and many times simply ignored our emails. DON"T do this CSA! You're better off buying from them at market - at least then you get what you signed up for!
