The most incredible chevon (goat meat) I have ever had
By: Grace    (May 14, 2008)

Sheerlark Farm is a wonderful, idyllic place to visit, especially in the spring.

I had the privilige of visiting mid-April, and was deighted to see new-born kids and lambs frolicking in the gorgeous fields. Larry and Sherry are wonderful people, dedicated to their craft and calling - Sherry a true "gentle mom" to her fuzzy children.

While on the visit, Larry and Sherry took us on a tour through their garden, herb beds, multiple fenced pens, which were then housing carefully supervised kids and mother goats of all ages. They care for and breed heritage goat breeds and sheep. We had a great discussion about their care, and special issues particular to the South and their area in Flat Top, AL.

We also got to take home some of the best meat I have ever had - some of which I made into spicy Korean goat stew seasoned with ground sesame and perilla herbs. The rest I later marinated in coconut, curry, garlic, and then shish-kabobed with bell peppers, mushrooms and onions and grilled. My friends and I enjoyed them so much! The kabobs were the highlight of the BBQ - the first BBG of the summer! They were rave-worthy, but all thanks to you Sher & Larr!

The only thing that could have made them better would have been some yummy goat cheese...Hmmm

Thanks, You guys are awesome!
