
Decent service...Ok Produce

We have been using this service all summer and I would describe the experience as "Moderate Satisfaction",. SERVICE: Our food always arrived on time and as expected, which is the most important. However dealing with the organization is through email and PDF documents, which isn't as "online" as I've come to expect these days. They send weekly newsletters to tell you what you are receiving. We found that these newsletters were occasionally sent late and have been inaccurate a couple times (for instance, they say you'll be receiving tomatoes but none in the box). PRODUCE: Again, I'm moderately satisfied here. There isn't as much variety as I would have expected. There are certain greens that last for several (3 or 4) shipments. We were getting tired of Chard and mizuna. But they still managed to add a good mix in each box. Quality of the produce is also mixed. Strawberries were quite possibly the best berries I've ever had. On the other hand, many of the greens were low yield (i.e. by the time you cut away the stem, you didn't have anything left) and/or heavily bug-eaten. I'm not talking one or two holes here...I mean that I would be ashamed to put it on a plate in front of guests, it was so bad. It is possible that I've been spoiled by supermarket produce. However even the organic produce at these places seems better quality with regards to the greens. Nevertheless, the food was still good, and we have signed up for a second quarter of service. Please note that I don't consider 3 stars a "bad" rating. As I said, we've signed up for a second round.
