Not a review, just a comment

I read about Dodge Lodge Farm on this website. From what I read, I was very impressed and thought I would like to visit this farm. I thought the CSA options and prices that were offered fit my personal budget.

I then read in the Greensboro News & Record that this particular farm was being accused of bringing in non-local produce for sale in violation of the Greensboro Farmers Market rules.

This saddens me, whether it is true or not. With everything that is going on in our corner of the woods these days, I thought the one thing that could be kept pure and sacred was organic farming.

We do not need to treat our local farmers like this. And, local farmers, you should not do anything that might lead people to feel this way about you. We need to steer the people away from the grocery stores of the world and back to the land, and we cannot do this if we let ugly things like this into the farming community.

Let's all be good people and good farmers, love each other, and be respectful to each other and our land.

Mike Causey of Dodge Lodge farm has had an ongoing history of selling produce that he has not grown. He has been suspended from selling at the Greensboro Farmer's Curb Market after two separate farm inspections at different times of the growing season proved that items he was selling at the market were not growing on his land. He is selling what you can buy at local grocery stores but without the labels so that you do not know where your food is really coming from. This kind of deception is not only unacceptable but dangerous in light of recent national recalls on broccoli, spinach, green onions etc. We must be able to trust our local farmers so that we can support them accordingly and have our health safeguarded.

Please be so kind as to type in your name when posting a "review" of whatever you want to review. Your comments pertaining to "Love thy neighbor" should be echoed toward the mean-spirited that tend to ignore this little proverb. Mary Hess, I forgive you, for you know not from whence you speak. That is with regard to the comments made in this review. Now, your comments made with regard to Bowman Dairy Homeland Creamery are right on target. Love and Peace!
