Thanksgiving Bourbon
By: Jane Catherine Erskine    (Jan 6, 2010)

Bought a turkey from the folks this year(2009) He was walking on grass, or in the woods until a couple of days before pickup(Wednesday evening) at a local winter Farmer's Market. Very clean, beautiful bird, sweet meats included. Longer than a butterball. Recipe was included. Dark meat is rosy, and tastes much like the breast. Buying birds from a local farmer is a much better experience than buying an industry bird. The condition of the product, the non-tacky smoothness of the skin, the cleanliness of the entire package. These folks also have goose and duck, which I haven't tackled before. They are indeed local to me, in the same county, and holding onto the last bit of farmland with a few others.
