Great CSA experience

My first CSA year, and I got lucky. This farm is a huge part of the local community, the history of Virginia, and has hosted several archaelogical expeditions. This year I received a large variety of vegetables with my share, as well as additions from Cavanna Pasta, eggs and fresh whole chicken from David Fitzgerald, goat cheese. local honey, and various jams and pepper chutneys. The honey share missed a few weeks due to a bear incident that took out some hives. After that, the honey picked up. No shortage here. The season extended into a winter share. I've made my first kim chee and sauerkraut, due to the amount of cabbage I received in the winter share. The variety, and quality of the produce is excellent. I've converted a neighbor to fresh food, due to this csa. I may begin canning. I've picked up my sharewith the Rural Virginia CSA at several of the local markets, depending on my schedule.
