I recently purchased 65 pounds of grass-fed beef from Sara at Harvest Hill Farms. It was very pleasant meeting Sara and her family and it was really nice to put a face on the farmers committed to cultivating a quality product. Unfortunately that's something most of us have gotten away from in this age of convenience when you can get everything you 'need' via a quick trip to the super market.
Over the last couple of weeks I've enjoyed trying out many of the different cuts of meat. There have been succulent t-bone steaks prepared on the grill, amazing roasts in the crock pot, great burgers, meatloaf, and even a savory mexican-style beef frittata recently. Everything has been delicious and clearly several notches above anything you're ever going to find in the grocery store. The beef is lean, juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor no matter how I've prepared it.
I look forward to every meal prepared with this fantastic grass-fed beef. I'm also excited to have found a great local food source and look forward to more purchases in the future!
