As a volunteer

As a volunteer for this CSA, I have always been impressed with the variety of vegetables offered each week. Since the alliance pulls from several different farms, the best of each farm is available to the customers and also ensures that if one farm is having a slow period there are others to fill in the gaps and provide a bountiful bag each week. One of the beauties of a CSA is that is offers - and pushes - customers to learn about and try new vegetables, a real treat for fellow culinary adventurers like myself. I often hear the customers complimenting the quality of the food, and I actually have to turn away shoppers at the pick-up venues who want to make purchases a la carte. Also, the prices of the products offered are more than competitive for the going rate at the local farmers' market and grocery stores, meaning the customers are really getting a good value. Plus, I love kale and think everyone should eat more!
