My wife and I found this new up-and-coming farm last fall on Local Harvest.org when we moved into the northern Virginia/DC area and began looking for a CSA to support. Our previous CSA in Nevada was such a great experience that we wanted to continue doing it.
Manahoac Farm is off to a really solid start. A young farm, they have a great operation shaping up and the passion for good healthy fruits and vegetables is very evident. If anyone out there is unsure about supporting Manahoac, they need only to go visit them to be convinced.
Things we would like to see: - An emailed or paper list of what is included in each week's share - although we were able to identify most of what we got last fall, some varieties were difficult to narrow down. - An occasional (maybe monthly?) update about the farm - how the crops are doing, what to expect in the coming weeks, and an occasional recipe or tips on how they like to prepare and eat what they grow.
We were thrilled with the variety and quantity last fall, and we are really looking foward to our next round with Matt and Manahoac Farm this season. We've missed our farm-fresh veggies!
