The Gem of Jenks - Small, but worth a visit!
By: Lora Peterson    (Sep 19, 2009)

The Jenks Farmers' Market is easy to miss tucked away in a corner of the Riverwalk parking lot away from the main flow of traffic, but it's worth a stop by Saturday mornings to see what the vendors have. It's small, and at first that might be off-putting to you like it was for me. I expected a large bustling market like what is found in Tulsa. Don't be afraid to stop in and meet these growers - they are some of the few I've found that have time and are willing to sit down for a chat, swap recipes, and genuinely want to learn your name. For a tiny market, they have an amazing array of produce - and a lot of them uncommon heirloom varieties - for far less than you'll pay for anything else in town (and that includes the other farmers' markets!)

Take just a bit of time out of your day and visit - I promise, it's well worth the drive from anywhere in town, and no resident of Jenks should miss it.
