good stuff, good people

My first time to the market was a wonderful experiance! I met wonderful people, & sampled some great treats. The music was wonderful, as were the vendors. I came away from the market with fresh grass fed beef, veggies from Cornell Farms, chow chow from Judy Pitts, & the best desserts I have ever had. Fried apple pies the likes of which I have never tasted before (yum) and a blueberry lemon pound cake all from a lady named Rebecca from Home Sweet Home Bakery. The prices are great and I have been going to the market every week since!
Making Thursdays Something to Look Forward To

This is a nice, friendly local market that people with downtown jobs look forward to. There is a good variety of vegetables, local honeys, plants, fresh baked homemade bread, and enjoyable conversation. The market is also open earlier in the year than other (also good) ones in Statesville, so you're able to get tasty young lettuce, radishes, tomato plants, and other vegetables in April.
Vendors are friendly, informative, and don't mind if you "shop around" first. On my last visit I ended up with local honey, chow chow, whole wheat bread, and a gargantuan bunch of scallions. Eggs are even available.
