Fresh, Organic, Local food and an Amazing Community
By: Emily Leuba Jones    (Oct 14, 2010)

We've been members of the Green Gate CSA for nearly 3 years now, and we love it. Skip and Erin not only provide a nice variety of fresh, healthy produce but they also provide a sense of community. Memebers are welcome to explore the farm and visit with the animals. Notices are even sent out when there are new babies to admire. I love knowing that our food is sourced locally, and I truly love that my two kids eat a greater variety of fresh produce because they help pick it out themselves. Green Gate also has fresh eggs and fresh meat from other local sources available so I'm able to do a full "farmers market" run here when we pick up our share. I know my family and my community are healthier because of this amazing farm.

One of the best!
By: Ann Neeley    (Oct 1, 2010)

I have been a Green Gate Farms CSA member for several years. Through all of the seasons, the produce and responsive relationship with the owners, Farmer Skip and Erin, has been superb. Along with great organic vegetables grown on this historic farm property not far from downtown Austin, one can also purchase organic meat and dairy products. In addition, many activities are provided. I have learned how to use a solar and a hay oven and now use both of these devises regularly. Their newsletter keeps everyone up-to-date with all the newest offerings. I recently purchased organic seedlings and have started my first fall garden in years. Green Gate Farms offers wonderful eating and learning experiences.

Green Gate ROCKS!
By: bianca lindSEY    (Aug 11, 2010)

I have been a member of Green Gate for now 4 years. Erin and Skip are fabulous people and I love being a part of their community. I was a member of a previous CSA that just gave me tons of the same stuff (greens, greens and greens), Green Gate has about 7-10+ offerings each week in the CSA and the amounts of each are easy to prepare. The farm is only 8 miles east of downtown, so it is close and fun to visit for a break from city and a great place to take the kids to run around and touch animals. The quality, quantity and variation is perfect for my family of four. We have also just ordered our second half hog from Green Gate, super yummy pork! The CSA has many options and for the most part runs all year except for a month or so between seasons. Green Gate is still small enough that they know all members by name and is great way to get of the grocery store on the farm!
