Delicious Nocino!
By: Julia Khodabandeh    (Dec 10, 2011)

I had tried vin de noix in France with my host family as an exchange student. This year I wanted to try and make some of my own. The walnuts I received from the farm were fantastic with quick shipping to MA, and as the other reviewer noted a prompt note from the wait list. Thanks so much for making these walnuts available to us! I had so many walnuts that I was able to try both vin de noix and nocino. The nocino was excellent - here's the recipe I used: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2009/07/liqueur-de-noix-green-walnut-liq/

My source for green walnuts!
By: Sharon Hoffmann    (Jul 10, 2011)

I had read about making Nocino/vin de Noix last year and was so disappointed that I had just missed the harvest for green walnuts, so I vowed to track it this year (2011). I received a note from Local Harvest the day they became available & ordered immediately. I received them in NJ in perfect condition in 2 days, from a great family farm in California, with free shipping!!

Hopefully my Nocino experience will be successful and I will order here every year if all goes well : ) A great experience!

GREEN WALNUTS

The green walnuts arrived very promptly, with an Ice-Pak to keep them cool in transit.. They were very clean and ready to go into the brine. THANKS!

Glad to hear! Let us know what you are making.... Pickled walnuts maybe? ~ the Clary's

Yes! Pickled walnuts. I love 'em but never tried to make 'em. They're in the brine in an antique French jar. I'll let you know how they turn out. Any fault will be on my end--the walnuts you sent were perfect.
