Reviews for: The Farm at Red Hill

Great Variety!
By: SaucyNick    (Jul 7, 2008)

My wife and I have been enjoying our weekly excursions to the City Market for awhile now and we always enjoy the variety of products from the Farm at Red Hill. At first we started going for the salsas, then the jams became a sweet and hot treat, then the hummus became a nice snack as well. They also have regular produce there as well, but what really sets this place apart from others is how they will talk to you and answer your questions. A veggie can be a whole new dish when you start asking questions about different applications for the same old boring veggie. Also, I must say that its the first salsa i have seen with carrots in it, and this adds a nice crisp texture to the experience.

Awesome
By: Shelley    (Jul 7, 2008)

I enjoy going to the City Market frequently and the one booth that I "Have" to stop at each visit is the Farm at Red Hill. My family and I are hooked on the Habenaro Jam's...especially the Blackberry. I appreciate the fact that this booth is always inviting and friendly and I love the samples.

My family from Lynchburg is now also hooked on these jams as well.

Many thanks for everything. Keep up the good work.

Red Hill is Red Hot!!!
By: milo    (Jul 7, 2008)

Being a lover of Hot Peppers, I frequent the City Market in Charlotesville in search of great peppers. ( I make hot sauce as a hobby) Woooo Hoooo! I found the place! The Farm at Red Hill sells not only hot peppers, hot pepper jam and all types of salsas, they are the only local grower I know of that is growing the hottest pepper in the world, the Bhut Jolokia Pepper! The Farm at Red hill family are a gracious and friendly bunch. They continuosly take extra time to help me find exactly what I am looking for, and are willing to take that extra step and bring in special orders for me when I request it. (their other produce is great too, I just have a hot pepper problem!)

I was able to find the Farm at Red Hill Booth easily from direction of other vendors. 3 different vendors sent me to Red Hill's spot and told me to see Richard, who was nothing but kind and helpful! The guy from PlanetEarthDiversified first pointed me there. (great booth also!)

Watch out for the Nuclear Salsa if you are faint of heart!

Thanks Richard and Wendy! Sorry for always leaving my coffee cup on your tables after shopping!

Fantastic Vendor with Fantastic Products!
By: Nancy Cowan    (Jul 6, 2008)

The Farm at Red Hill has become one of my favorite vendors at the City Market. They have the best fresh produce including items that other vendors don't grow. They also have the most wonderful dips and pestos. Richard and Wendy who run the farm along with their son and daughter are always willing to share their knowledge with the customer, from giving out great recipes for their produce, to providing free plants from their greenhouses for your garden. You need to go early or their produce will be sold out! Don't forget to try the Nuclear Salsa!
