Local Food and Wool - a great combination

Cathy provided fantastic healthy food for my guests and I at the opening of my new business, White Barn Farm Sheep and Wool. As a farm based fiber shop, I wanted the food to reflect the local message I'm trying to promote through my wool. It was delicious, satisfying, and all local. Make sure to ask for the butternut squash soup. Yum.

Great cooking classes to get HEALTHY!

With the strong movement to become more healthy and reduce sickness, many are anxious to make lifestyle changes.

Diet is the #1 aspect of my lifestyle that has dramatically affected my family's health. But learning how to eat healthy isn't easy. It's a whole new world, especially with a gluten-free focus.

We are committed being healthy with goals of eating locally and eating lots-n-lots of veggies that are to the season!

Cathy's classes have, FINALLY, given me the tools I need to implement our nutritional goals. She has taught me how to cook the veggies in season and gluten-free grains in a delicious, fun way that my kids (ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 yrs old) are willing to eat! Our family's diet has made us feel rejuvenated, energized, youthful...happy!

Cathy's class format is fun, interactive, creative...very hands-on.

Grab an apron, grap a knife, get learning, get healthy!

Cathy's cooking classes

I have been to many of Cathy's cooking classes She usually begins with an overview of the recipes and allows us to taste the various ingredients that we will use. What a treat to taste fresh from the farm picked veggies and greens. This time we learned about brown rice ,whole wheat and other types of pastas, as well as new and interesting sauces such as "nomato" sauce. Cathy makes you feel comfortable and welcome even if you are a novice in the kitchen as I am. In previous classes we have learned about glutten free cooking as well as natural sweeteners. I look forward to attending Cathy's classes.

Pasta cooking class review

Cathy's class was well worth it. She has a way of including everyone in the food preparation that makes you feel welcome. Then as the class progresses, we get to see how everyone else is coming along with their dishes and to have a try at anything new. In this one, we made pasta from scratch and used the manual noodle maker. Cathy is so relaxed and competent in the kitchen that she can oversee 4 or 5 recipe preparations at once. We are each given some 'space' and some reassuring guidance as we prepare our dish. When everything's done, we enjoy eating and critiquing the food. It is here at the table that we discuss actually using these recipes in our daily lives. A valuable facet of the experience!
