Because it is the way the whole country should go, mostly organic and local and it does not cost lots of shipping.

It's amazing to see so many people in the community come down to get fresh local produce and also enjoy the live music every Saturday morning! They also have a space for local artists to show their work!

Good variety of foods and I like seeing that local people, not corporations benefit.

The Downtown Bloomington Farmers' Market has recently started to accept food stamps (IL LINK card) in order to allow all people, regardless of income, to have access to fresh foods.

Local is the only way at the Bloomington Market!
By: Janet Tulley    (May 28, 2008)

Bloomington Farmers Market provides a little bit of everything for everyone. Cheese, meat, poultry, veggie starts, bonsai plants, canned veggies, pickles, jams, eggs, organic veggies & fruits, popcorn, flowers. Getting there early is key. Oftentimes the good stuff sells out! But, if you go late, there are often deals to be had. Don't miss Dearing Farm eggs or Mitchell Farm sweet corn. The Master Gardeners are always there to lend help to those learning striving to be as talented as the farmers at the Market.

Fresh baked goods whether from local fundraising organizations or local bakeries are an added bonus.

Crowds are frequent, except in foul weather. The farmer's are hardy! Just grab an umbrella or parka and experience the Market!
