Local is the way to go. It helps the environment in so many ways. And the food is incredible.

10th year of this joint effort by Wright College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago and Eli's Cheesecake to provide a source for produce and vegetables on the northwest side of Chicago, artisan crafts tied to local not for profits and information on sustainable agriculture in cooperation with the Chicago High School for Ag Sciences.

Needs more vendors
By: Jannie    (Aug 13, 2008)

I have been visiting this farmer's market since it first opened, and I thank Eli's Cheesecake Factory and Wright College for bringing it to the area, but it needs more vendors. In earlier years, other farms were there selling their wares, but in 2008 Nichols is the lone farm at our market. Though offering great produce and preparation ideas, Nichols farms has become the only farm represented at this farmer's market. Our neighborhood has never had anything like this before Eli's and Wright brought this to our area. This farmer's market is wonderful for our aging, eclectic, middle-class neighborhood, but it definitely needs more participation from farmers, interesting sellers, and patrons to keep it prosperous and just to keep it coming back!!!
