Reviews for: Finley's Fresh Produce
Amazing produce, amazing customer service, great flexibility
By: Melody Hansen (Jan 10, 2012)
We joined Finley's last year. After doing some research, we decided to go with them because the cost was reasonable and we had so much flexibility in the program. I loved that we got to choose our vegetables each week and we were able to "bank" our shares if we were going to be out of town.
Everything about the program wildly exceeded our expectations. The produce was outstanding, every piece better than the last. The communication was great, each week we received an email with what veggies/fruits would be available and recipe suggestions. John and Chris were there at pick-up to talk to, ask questions or offer advice.
I would (and do) recommend Finley's to everyone I meet. They are a wonderful company with a wonderful product. Hooray for supporting local!
More than membership

One of the many things that I love about John and Chris Finley's Fresh Produce is the fact that I can purchase their tasty produce at our local Hermiston farmer's market! And our local healthy food store, Alive and Well.
AND I run into them in the darndest places around Hermiston.
Good food from great people who's reputation in the area is golden. Doesn't get any better now, does it?
Great Decision to join

This is my first year of signing up for the Finley Fresh Produe and I am so glad I did it. I signed up based on the reports of trusted friends, as well as hearing the Finley's speak at a meeting I attended. There are so many things about it that I love! First of all John and Chris are very gracious and trustworthy folks.
Their produce is absolutely delicious! So far I've got a variety of lettuces (bigger than life, compared to what I'm used to in the store), kale, carrots, broccoli (the greenest i've ever seen), radishes (huge), beautiful green onions, califlower ( in the fridge..haven't yet eaten it). There may be some I'm forgetting...but it's all beautiful and delicious and oh so fresh! My favorite thing I picked up this week is strawberries and below is a note I had written to John and Chris....
"Delicious strawberries!!!! You guys do an amazing job. I'm so grateful for having found out about your wonderful fresh produce and the fact you even deliver to my town is an extra bonus!"
I was out of town last week and my sister who just moved here from Vancouver, WA went and picked up my shares to use. She was so impressed that she is now signing up to get the stuff!
I also love that John send a weekly 'newsletter' letting us know what will be delivered, and some other interesting tidbits, and Chris adds 1-2 recipes which I'm printing and keeping in a binder now.
So many more benefits...but I've already been lengthier than I intended.
Great produce & variety

Todd and I joined the CSA for a couple of reasons: to get a variety of fresh garden produce that we get to choose for our family and to help support people we know (John & Chris). We had not done this previously and were not exactly sure what we were getting into. In the past we either had a very large garden of our own or purchased flats through the local farm stands. The CSA has been a wonderful experience. We have been able to eat up most of the produce that we have taken (family of 4 getting 4 shares) and what we have not eaten has been put up in the freezer. In the past, I would spend hours doing this, but because it is smaller amounts, it only takes a few minutes each week and we will still have great veggies in our freezer this fall/winter. Also; John mentioned last week that he was going to have to pick the melons as the guy who usually does it was not available. Well, let me say, he did a great job. We got a watermelon as well as Galia melon and both were wonderfully sweet but not overripe. The corn has been wonderfully sweet but not overripe as well. We love the emails that let us know what is available as well as the recipes to try (especially for items I have never cooked before). Our kids (14 & 11) are also enjoying trying new produce and have been very willing. There is no doubt in our minds that we will be doing it again next year. We have been telling everyone we know about it and hope that they join us in the CSA. Thanks and keep up the great work!

This has been such a good experience. I have friends who just get a box of veggies and are scrambling to try and use them by the time for their next box. I love that we get to choose. And that we get a reminder email with recipes for the vegetables that week. The produce is so fresh and tastes so much better than what I've been getting at the store. I'm really grateful for Finley's Fresh Produce and this CSA adventure. I look forward to Tuesday pick ups, keep up the good work, John and Chris!

In a world of wilting and cardboard produce this is a breath of fresh air and produce. How nice it is to be confident that what you and your family are eating is fresh and not contaminated. The flavor is fabulous and a welcome addition to all my recipes.

I went with Finley Produce last year not because they are an organic farm but because they allowed me to choose the produce I received each week. I have a picky family and that way I could pick what I knew we would use. The produce was always fresh, variety was great and updates about what was ready and if something might be ripening late, extras of produce for those who wanted it. I really like dealing with them and signed up last fall to go with them again this year. Keep up the great service and supplying great produce.
