A Little Piece of Heaven

I liked my share so much last year that I bought two shares this year. I've been enjoying berries for most of the winter from the bounty I picked last summer with just one share. This year I hope the extra share will get me through the whole year with local fruit in my smoothie every morning.
The farm is convenient to town, with a magnificent view and quiet rural setting. Folks are friendly and picking directions are clear. Picking hours are convenient and picking is as easy as it can be. There is a nice variety of fruits available so i could enjoy my favorites and try some I might not have purchased otherwise.
One of my best memories from last summer is picking raspberries with my granddaughter early in the morning. We were the only ones in the field; the dew was on the grass; we could just hear some chickens clucking and a tractor working on a nearby farm. The birds were singing, and all was right with the world - at least the little part of it we were participating in at that moment. I felt almost unbearably fortunate to be surrounded by such bounty, sharing it with my granddaughter as my grandmother and father had shared their gardens with me.
