As a consumer - new to the area, I love the small town feel and sense of community. We've found good produce at reasonable rates. Vendors with time to chat and simple displays.

Here in Trumansburg, we've lost the supermarket in our downtown village area, and so, without the Trumansburg Farmer's Market, we wouldn't have a walkable source of fruits and vegetables. Once a week, people from Trumansburg wander on down to the park, and they do more than just shop. They meet and talk with each other in a common space where their kids can play and enjoy live music. The Trumansburg Farmers Market doesn't just give Trumansburg a source of healthy food. It also gives us a tool for building a healthy community.

The Tburg market is simply the best. Great food from Simply Red, live music from local artists, all kinds of different foodstuffs -- honey, goat, cinnamon buns, fruits and veggies -- plus crafts, neighbors, and all kinds of other wonderfulness. I love it. My son always sees friends he knows (as do I, for that matter), and it's just a great environment. It's a great place to see new businesses forming, and watch others grow. And this year there's both wine and ice cream! Can't beat that.

The Trumansburg farmers market provides a great weekly community gathering time, with the ability to purchase delicious locally grown vegetables or farm-raised meats and eggs, or a wonderful assortment of other wonderful hand-made items. There are also food vendors so you can have dinner and stay awhile! My husband and I just love it!

The market is small enough to have a true community feel, but big on diversity and quality of farm produce, baked goods, crafts, diner vendors, and musicians. I began selling produce at the Trumansburg Market two years ago and feel at home: the vendors are cooperative rather than competitive, and there's always a lively two-way exchange of information with customers, many of them serious gardeners. Quite a few kids know good food: they recognize habaneros and serranos, Araucana and Welsumer eggs. How encouraging for the future of local foods!

Our little market has come a long way since its inception. We now have food vendors every week, a different music group that performs each week, lots of great locally grown produce and eggs, organic and grass fed meats, and some really great handmade cosmetics, clothing and household goods. Every Tuesday is a party in our little town park. Y'all come!
