A market with Integrity
By: Adam and Mecca Lowe (Aug 26, 2009)
We are thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful farmers market. All of the vendors are friendly and Susan does a great job of enforcing the "grower only" policy so you can know that the farmers grew the produce they are selling. We hope to keep this market going into October so keep coming!

By: Cynthia T. (Jun 19, 2009)
It has only local farmers and their produce, not imported produce from big wholesalers.

Home-made organic chevre? In Dallas! Wow!
By: (Jul 30, 2008)
I had the garlic-&-basil & was it good! Next I'll try the caramelized onion. This is an amazingly diverse, growing, Farmers' Market. It has some organic/non-chemical growers, as well as local small farmers and odd truck with boxes from the State Farmers Market, as well as fresh cut herbs, baked goods, *amazing* local vegetables, free-range eggs, handicrafts, all you'd expect of a Farmers' Market. One *great* addition--and one which is taking the Dallas Farmers Market from corn & tomatoes out of the back of a truck or two to the level of an impressive & vital source for the yummiest goods in the county, is the participation of (and co-sponsorship by) the local Master Gardeners Association. They're the cheerful source for all your gardening questions, as well as rain barrels; they also sell plants--muscadines & scuppernongs, ornamentals, baby Japanese Maples for unbelievably low prices, and--most exciting to me--Southeastern native plants. It's an absolute *must*! Once you've tried corn just picked hours before, or a casaba melon so sweet and fragrant just taking it home perfumes your car for a week, or a home-grown tomato--all local and with a carbon toenailprint, not footprint!--you'll never feel the same way about grocery-store produce again. Get there early as you can--the Silver Queen goes fast!

A small town with Big taste.
By: Rebekah (Jul 26, 2008)
big taste ! smells, colors, people.
Gotta love this small town with big taste. The home town organic food is why you come ,but you stay because as soon as you jump out of your car, you are family. The smiles greet you and the farmers aren't shy to tell you all about there families and the way they grow there foods.
Be sure to ask all the questions you want. "how do I keep bugs off my grapes with out hurting the organic factor?" - "what month do you plant eggplants?" or "what do you do with lavender?"
They don't mind, in fact educating the next generation of farmers is why they are here.
The Dallas Farmers Market is a great place to visit !
I do believe they are always looking for more sellers~
So if it's home grown ~ bring it .

Well worth the trip!
By: Stacey (Jul 11, 2008)
I live in Paulding, so I may be a bit biased here, but I think we have a great farmer's market. It appeared small the first time I went, so I wasn't sure if I would leave with much, but I've been able to take home my whole week's produce every time. Two weeks ago I picked up some local honey, and there is a great vendor of eggs and chevre (goat cheese) who has been there every week. So let's support this wonderful gem! Local food is the best!
